Whole Body Cryotherapy- What’s That?

Cryosauna 2

You might have heard of it, but what is it really? Whole body cryotherapy refers to a type of therapy that involves exposing your body’s outer layer to extreme cold temperatures for a few minutes at a time. The process works by having a person sit or stand inside a cryotherapy chamber or cryosauna with only minimal clothing on while refrigerated cold air or liquid nitrogen fill the chamber. Some types of cryochambers use refrigerated air and are fully enclosed while others allow the user to have their head out and use liquid nitrogen. Liquid nitrogen chambers are becoming more popular as they allow for a less claustrophobic atmosphere and the liquid nitrogen allows the chamber to be able to get in between -200 degrees Fahrenheit and -300 degrees Fahrenheit. Exposing your body’s outer layer to extreme cold is said to substantially cool your muscles and skin temperature. Studies suggest that this makes your blood vessels constrict less, causing a natural anti-inflammatory response that allows blood to flow to sore or injured areas. This therapy boasts many different benefits for athletic recovery, pain management, inflammation, and overall general health and wellness.  Interested in giving this a try?
