Anaerobic Exercise- What is it?

Anaerobic Exercise
Anaerobic exercise is intense short exercise that puts extra demands on the body’s oxygen supply. With the demands being made on the oxygen supply, this type of exercise depends on energy that is store in the muscles, not oxygen. The muscles being used for a small amount of time at a high rate can offer the body benefits like:
-Stronger Muscles
-Greater Endurance
-Increased Strength
-Ability to Burn More Calories
When you start to workout hard, it temporarily causes a lower amount of oxygen to be delivered to the muscles. This causes lactic acid to accumulate in the blood and cause muscle fatigue. This is why anaerobic exercise is short. Performing anaerobic exercises over time though, does allow the body to be able to perform longer without muscle fatigue. Types of anaerobic exercise include:
-Interval Training
-Running Sprints
-Heavy Weightlifting
Anaerobic exercise can be intense and cause greater muscle discomfort. You should always stretch and warm-up before you start any anaerobic exercise. If you’re a newbie at the gym, you shouldn’t rush into starting an anaerobic routine. Building a basic level of fitness with lower-intensity exercises is best for beginners.
